Master photographer Steven Chee shares his insights on the top five features of the new EOS R5 Mark II from Canon. Steven is renowned for his extraordinary work in fashion, beauty, and portrt photography, with a talent for capturing emotive moments.

I've been using Canon equipment for nearly two decades, which speaks volumes about its reliability and performance. When the EOS R5 Mark II was released, I eagerly tested it out to showcase some of its remarkable features.

Next-generation autofocus is one feature that truly stood out for Steven. He put it through a rigorous test by photographing breakdancers in real-time; their erratic movements demanded pinpoint accuracy from both the camera and the focus system.

He says, The new autofocus on the EOS R5 Mark II is outstanding when compared to previous. It was particularly impressive during our challenge with capturing the dynamic breakdancer's face as he spun.

With a continuous shooting speed of up to 30 frames per second, Steven found that the camera could keep pace with the dancer’s complex movements even in low light conditions.

The R5 Mark II gives me the confidence knowing it can handle any challenge and deliver the perfect outcome, Steven remarks.

The camera's capability to shoot high-resolution video at an astonishing 8K60p is another feature Steven highlights. This ensures that every frame has incredible detl, allowing him to zoom in without loss of quality or crop for creative compositions afterward.

I appreciate this feature because it gives me the flexibility to adjust my shots in post-production while mntning a high frame rate for slow-motion effects.

Steven is also impressed with the camera's advanced noise reduction capabilities when capturing fast-moving subjects like breakdancers under low light. It allowed him to use higher shutter speeds without compromising on clarity or sharpness.

I was really impressed by how it minimized noise patterns almost to non-existent levels, even in challenging lighting conditions, he says.

The EOS R5 Mark II's seamless transition between stills and video formats is another key advantage Steven notes. The consistent quality of autofocus makes dly shooting more manageable across different formats.

In summary, I've been extremely satisfied with the camera’s performance. It has set a high benchmark when compared to other options on the market.
